THREE WAYS TO STICK TO YOUR FITNESS GOALS

Sometimes we could all do with a little inspiration, motivation or just a good shove out the door!

 

Here’s 3 tips to help you set, stick and succeed on your Fitness Journey!

 

1.Make it Easy!

Start small, make it manageable and enjoyable – start by telling yourself you’ll do five minutes of exercise three times this week, then next week do 10 min of exercise and so on. By the end of the month you’ll be doing 20 minutes of exercise three times a week and it’ll be a habit and part of your routine!

2.Write it Down!

Once a week sit down and schedule your workouts! Define the time and place and then put it somewhere you can see – on the fridge, as the lock screen on your phone, etc. These are non-negotiables. They are important meetings you have made with yourself. Yes, life happens and things change but when/if they do make sure you reschedule that meeting! It cannot be missed.

3. Focus on the Routine, Not the Result!

Concentrate on building the habit, on how working out makes you feel – does working out in the morning give you great energy for the day, does going for a walk with your partner/friend allow you to connect with them. Focus on the positives of your new routine rather than the outcome you hope to get from it (I want to lose weight, I want to run a marathon etc.,) Fall in love with the process and you’ll find it much easier to stick to!

 

And remember it’s the sum of our efforts that counts – it’s the small things, the small changes, consistency and continuous showing up that really makes the difference. Anyone can do it once but success comes from doing it a hundred times!xx
